Research Intern
We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic interns to support a variety of distributed energy resources projects including energy efficiency, renewable generation, demand response, and energy storage. Potential assignments include technical research, market research, technology assessments, and analysis. Ideal candidates will have strong quantitative skills and/or an engineering undergraduate degree, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment. Experience in database management and design, including a basic working knowledge of relevant analytics tools (e.g. R, Python, SQL, SAS, etc.) is a plus.
Project workload is expected to be between 15 – 20 hours per week and the position is located in our central downtown Walnut Creek California office, within easy walking distance to BART. Consultant
We are seeking a consultant or senior consultant to support a variety of distributed energy resources projects, including energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy storage. The position will involve technical research, market research, technology assessments, and analyses spanning the evolving energy landscape. Additional project and task opportunities include evaluating the energy and demand savings impacts from EE/DSM programs, field work to verify measure installations and savings, project reviews, building energy modeling, energy and demand savings calculations, and reporting of findings, managing to client expectations and building client relationships, budget management, and preparation of written reports. Key attributes of successful candidates will be a foundational understanding how technologies save energy and power, along with a strong technical writing skillset.
Desired Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business, Engineering or a Technical discipline is preferred
- An energy industry background, or related field, with a solid knowledge of energy technologies and practices is strongly preferred
- Experience delivering presentations or other public forums
- Strong proposal and technical writing experience
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Budget and data management experience
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to prioritize and work both, independently and as part of a team
- Proactively seeks to identify real customer needs and manages customer expectations accordingly
- A positive, collaborative and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to travel within California; Must be able to meet the requirements to drive for company business
Data Analytics Specialist
We are seeking energetic technical junior staff to support a variety of sustainability projects involving Distributed Energy Resources (DER) projects, including energy efficiency (EE), renewable energy, demand response (DR), energy storage, and electrification of buildings and transportation. We are especially interested in candidates with a demonstrated interest in data analytics. Potential assignments include statistical analysis/modeling of technical research, market research, and technology assessment results. Ideal candidates will have a strong statistical foundation and a technical undergraduate degree, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment. Experience in database management and design, including basic working knowledge of relevant analytics tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel, R, Python, SQL, SAS, etc.), along with the development of analysis tools, is a plus.
